Welcome to the Killer Bunnies Web Site. You are probably wondering, who the heck are these guys.  Well let me tell you a little story about a group of young and not so young men who decided to learn to play hockey.
It all started in the summer of 89 in a beat up old tennis court beside the Neville Ice rink on the Southside of Pittsburgh.  Since most of us did not know how to skate, we started with deck hockey a reasonable substitute for the real thing.  There were about 8 of us and we played pickup for the entire summer usually 3 days a week weather permitting.  Of course we suffered the usual injuries hit in the head, face, you know where (no cup ouch!!!) but we learned the game.
Summer led into Fall and we were getting bored with pickup so we joined a deck hockey team called the Sharks.   We chose the Bridgeville Sports Complex to play, because it was starting to get cold and they had the only inside deck in the Pittsburgh area.  The team wasn't bad and we ended up in 2nd place.
We played deck hockey for a couple of years and went through a few team names and a lot of players. We also began to play pick up Ice Hockey. A lot of us couldn't even skate, we looked like a bunch of pylons.
The skating was coming along thanks to roller blades and the timing was right for the big jump. Bridgeville announced a new roller blade league and we signed up. We had some good skaters but there were enough weak ones to keep us from dominating the league. We continued playing at Bridgeville but they were really pissing us off with their unprofessional management.
Ice Hockey was looking pretty good and more available with the opening of new rinks in the Pittsburgh area. We chose SouthPointe as our home rink. Hey, if it's good enough for the Penguins, it's good enough for us. The team was formed and the only thing we needed was a name. Well Larry the entertainer Norris put together a bunch of names and logo designs and the Killer Bunnies were formed. So look around, send us mail, and enjoy the Killer Bunny experience.
